Love Song of Land and Water

I am a circle.

My existence brings me through the wastes,

dark and light, heat and chill,

But I am forever drawn back to you.

I stay for a time,

bask in your love,

then take my leave once again.

I am a pillar of stone no storm could break,

I stand as a beacon to greet your return.

Though I roll and wind, I always stand still,

waiting for your sweet embrace.

And when we meet,

we form a line in the sand,

a sanctuary for our weary hearts,

and we are happy and complete in the brief union.

When I see you, I think of

long days spent loving you,

eons measured out by your steadfast love.

But it is a passing fancy,

Our masters are stern,

and this is no place for idle affection.

The way the sun dances with you

makes me believe in angels.

My faith in destiny is renewed

when you slide over my shores.

And when we meet,

each is lost in

the other

in a world outside this cold reality,

we are safe from those who would

try to tear us apart.
